Although there is a slight chance Chicago Bears rookie wide receiver Alshon Jeffery could return Sunday night against the Houston Texans, it isn't likely. Chances are, Chicago will keep Jeffery out against Houston to let his hand fully heal. He'd be ready next week for the San Francisco 49ers.
"Alshon Jeffery continues to get better," Bears coach Lovie Smith said on Monday. "Don't know what his status will be this week, but we're getting closer as each day goes by."
Jeffery missed the past three games with the broken hand but still ranks fourth on the team in receiving with 14 catches for 184 yards and two touchdowns. Jeffery has caught nearly 61 percent of the passes thrown his direction with no drops.
In fantasy football, for those with a deeper bench, the time to buy Alshon Jeffery is now. We saw flashes of Jeffery's in the first quarter of the season, and he should contribute a solid last quarter as well.Tags: Alshon Jeffery, Brandon Marshall, Chicago, Chicago Bears, Devin Hester, Earl Bennett, Football, Houston Texans, Jay Cutler, Lovie Smith, NFL, San Francisco 49ers
