After breaking his hand a few weeks ago, Chicago Bears rookie wide receiver Alshon Jeffery was anxious to get back to playing football. The team was glad to have him back as well as he's another option opposite Brandon Marshall.
The much anticipated return didn't last long as Jeffery left Monday night's game with an apparent knee injury.
The rookie is slated to undergo arthroscopic knee surgery today and will miss two to four weeks. The injury is said to be "minor" according to the Chicago Sun-Times meaning he could be back on the short end of that time table.
After missing four games with the broken hand, Jeffery returned to the lineup Monday and snagged two balls for 15 yards, upping his season total to 16 receptions for 199 yards.
