Earl Bennett left the Chicago Bears' loss to the Seattle Seahawks last week in the first half after suffering a concussion.

We here at Bears 101 already alluded to the fact that the Bears wouldn't bring in additional help at the position, but the team will be undermanned at the wide receiver position Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings.

Bennett caught a touchdown pass against Seattle, and was concussed on a hit he received as he entered the end zone. Chicago has sat Jay Cutler, Devin Hester and Shea McClellin the game after they received concussions, and expect them to do the same with Bennett.

The loss of Bennett is a significant blow to the team because of how well he works the slot. He's a true slot receiver, and now Chicago will have to search elsewhere to fill the void. Chicago does expect both Hester and rookie Alshon Jeffery to return this week to take on a Vikings defense that will be without a few of its starters.

Hester is returning from a concussion he suffered the last time out vs. the Vikings, while Jeffery will be back after getting his knee scoped.

If for some reason all three players can't suit up, Eric Weems and Dane Sanzenbacher will see an increased role out wide, while Chicago will also run more multiple tight end and heavy packages to make up for the lack of wideouts on the roster.
